WHAT I DID FOR HEWLETT PACKARD

LOCAL (ANDOVER) GARDENING

I act as the "Gardener" (I cultivate the M.E.'s) for the PMD-A and ICP M.E./I.D. crowd, as well as for the MMO (Medical Manufacturing Organization) Model Shop and Manufacturing engineers. This generally occupies about 25% to 75% of my time (50% officially). I set up and support:

• Hardware [only 700's]
• Operating System(s) (HP-UX 8.0, 9.01, 9.05)
• X11 R5 and VUE 3.0 GUI's
• CAD Tools (ME10, ME30 and SolidDesigner, Cognition)
• Analysis Tools (RASNA, FloTHERM, MathCad)
• CNC Tools (Next Generation CNC [GNC Solids])
• Office Automation Tools (Framemaker, Lotus 123)
• WWW server
• M.E. Process Documentation

STRATEGIZING

I also belong to the Mechanical Design Technology Council (MDTC), a group of 15-20 M.E.'s within HP which works with the Corporate Engineering M.E. group to set the strategic and tactical directions of tool and process usage for the ~2700 M.E. CAD tool users within H.P.

CORPORATE ENGINEERING

I recently (Jan. 1, 1996) began devoting 50% of my time to working with the M.E. Corporate Engineering Group, consisting of:

• Ken Knaus
• Pete Zivkov
• Debbie Schultz

An overview of the job description reads as follows:

• Produce HPMS for ME10 and 30 revision 7.x and beyond.
• Produce HomeBrew for OESD revision 5.x and beyond.
• Provide HPMS support for HP sites
• Provide HomeBrew support for HP sites
• Develop a process for SheetAdvisor TDB migration from ME30 to SolidDesigner
• Be a part of the CE ME Team
